Season Start and close dates
The season will start for junior and youth teams at the end of October and go through to mid December, recommencing early February and concluding the end of March. More information will be detailed at the time of registration.
The cost of registering your child varies on the grade but it will cover the entire season (approx 16 playing days). The junior team (school years 1-4) vary from $60 for the Have a Go (school years 1-2) to $90 for the Western District teams (school years 3-4). Once your child enters the Auckland Cricket competition (school year 5+) the cost increases to $170+. This is due to the cost of supplying proper cricket equipment and balls as well as affiliation fees paid to Auckland Cricket. Once again a firm price will be indicated at the time of registration.
Have A Go [Superstars Cricket] – This Grade is generally for children from the preschool level, up to school year 1 or 2.
This grade has sessions on Friday evenings from 5:30 or 6 pm till approx 7:00 pm
The activities are Cricket oriented fun activities during which the children learn cricket skills such as throwing, catching, hitting the ball and running, as well as learning broader social skills such as taking turns and encouraging each other, while participating in several different modified cricket activities which improve their coordination and ability to participate enjoyably in games.
Children in older age groups with little or no experience may choose to participate in this session for a period of time at the beginning of the season, in order to obtain the basic cricket skills needed to start playing competitive cricket.
Parents are encouraged to join in and help run an activity.
The Club room facilities such as the bar, pool table and dartboard are also available. Our sunny deck is a good spot to watch the action down on the field.
